REACH European Regulation

REACH is a very complicated 850 pages statutory text that regulates chemical substances placed on the market in the European Union.

It applies to producers and importers of chemical substances.
A global inventory has been created: each officially declared product is "pre-registered" if it is concerned by REACH. Any substances concerned by REACH but not pre-registered can no longer be placed on the market as of the 1^stDecember 2008.

Afterwards (between 2010 and 2018), it is foreseen that every declared product will be officially registered (and laboratory tests regarding the toxicity and ecotoxicity of each substance will be performed). The registration dossiers will be evaluated by experts from the European Chemicals Agency who will then issue marketing authorisations.

As a manufacturer of plant-based chemical substances, NOVANCE has been required to pre-register its substances.

Substances manufactured by NOVANCE that are concerned by REACH have been pre-registered.
